Abacus is launching a product that has been virtually a secret in the horse industry for over a decade. This product is Padenpor DLX^TM, a seamless textured bacteria free flooring, which was specifically designed for the equine market by equestrians. The Padenpor DLX^TM seamless system is versatile enough to be extended to cover walls and columns without ever breaking the connection with the floor.

Due to its rubber composition, Padenpor DLX^TM provides the safety and comfort component for horse’s flooring. The basemat is made with carefully cleaned and shredded recycled rubber. The rubber composition can be comprised of 4mm to 38mm depending on its purpose and desire. The thicker the rubber base the more resilient the floor, therefore, more shock absorption provided to the horse. For example, a thicker rubber base would be recommended for recovery rooms and stalls and a thinner for aisle ways, where use of tractors and constant traffic is present but the need for a sterile environment is still high.

Once the basemat is adhered, it is encapsulated with several different coats of specially formulated two part self-leveling polyurethane, including a textured finish. With the Padenpor DLX^TM resilient polyurethane floor, there are no porous membranes for bacteria to get into. Padenpor DLX^TM has elasticity and elongation, making it unaffected by ice, water or extreme temperatures and will not crack like concrete. The textured finish can be changed depending on usage; by adding a little more or less aggregate the texture is reformatted to fit each installation. The polyurethane topcoat provides a non-porous surface that can be extended to cover walls and columns without ever breaking the connection with the floor. This drastically reduces contamination and keeps an area, bacteria free and mildew resistant. It can be used in a foaling stalls or breading areas, clinics or aisle ways.

The system has experience and validation. Over 26,000 covers were put through the Padenpor DLX^TM system at Ashford Stud Breeding Farm over the last 7 years. The system has withstood the traffic. Padenpor DLX^TM has a special support system built into the floor to carry the weight of horses. Hooves do not press through the system allowing bacteria a place to reside. Users of this Padenpor DLX^TM seamless system include many breeding farms, medical facilities, veterinary schools and zoos. Custom colors can be designed together to closely match your barn or clinic’s “colors”.
