In the past year, Abacus Surfaces has begun to promote a unique product to not only the landscaping market but also the Equine market. The product is Interlocking Rubber Pavers. Coming in “Dog bone” and “tile” forms, these Pavers can be used in barn isle ways, walkways, paddocks, and many other places. There are different styles and sizes. Just use your imagination to come up with patterns and ways to use them.

The Pavers are made up of recycled airplane tires and truck tread. From there, they are treated and made in a local factory. They are made in 4 different colors, Grey, Red, Black, and Green. They come in two different thicknesses and two different styles. The two styles are “Regrind” and “Standard”. The Standard Pavers are made up of thinner pieces of rubber and give an even, clean look. The “Regrind” Paver is made up of the remaining materials of the Standard Pavers and gives a realistic brick look. Both have the same durability and quality. The “Standard” and “Regrind” come in Full 1 ¾ inches thick. The “Standard” Paver can also be made into a Split 7/8 inches thick.

Pavers can be applied over packed stone dust or concrete. The Full 1 ¾ inch Pavers can be put over stone dust and concrete without having to be adhered to anything. The Split 7/8 inch Pavers need to be adhered to concrete. The Pavers are interlocked so tight that movement of the Pavers doesn’t happen. The tight interlocking also does not allow dirt to fall between the Pavers.

Mother nature cannot even contend to the Pavers. Freeze and thaw conditions do not affect the Pavers. And neither does the sun. The Pavers are UV resistant which means they will not fade from sun because the colors are deep in the rubber and all through the Paver. You can take plows, tractors, snow blowers, and just about anything over this flooring and it will not harm them.

Cleaning is also very easy too. We understand how the isle way for instance of a barn can get messy with cleaning stalls and having horses walking to and from their stalls. Sweeping and leaf blowing of the isles is a quick and inexpensive way to maintain the isle. You may also use a pressure washer if needed to get out tough dirt.
