About this Project
Eagle Academy is an early-childhood educational facility that teaches pre-K through 3rd grade students. The Academy serves as a focal point of the Washington, D.C. community and is a place where residents can come and enjoy the pool and gymnasium in the afternoons.
After being awarded the property in 2009, Eagle Academy PCS began plans for a whole new addition to their existing campus. The new building would boast an array of features, including a pool, gym, community room, offices, library, reading room, and computer lab for students. A lot of research was put into the design for this building, and as a result, it is very stylish in appearance and innovative in function.

To fit with the modern theme, Eagle Academy decided to go with Abacus’ Padenpor™ flooring in the gymnasium. The sleek, seamless, look of a dark blue gym floor is the perfect visual touch to complement the balance of this modern building.
Eagle Academy decided on a monochrome Atlantic-colored floor with white and light brown game lines. Adorning the floor in the center is the school’s logo: an eagle’s head. On the sides of the court the wordmark of the school with a unique alphabet block design (with the letters “E-A” and simplified eagle logo) bring together what is truly an incredible floor and gym facility.
