On December 11, 2024, Elizabethtown Area High School unveiled its brand-new Field House—a three-story athletic facility designed to elevate student-athlete development. At the heart of the space is an upper-level weight room overlooking the new track and football field. The Elizabethtown Bears now train in a modern, multi-functional environment built for both athletic teams and PE classes. The architects at Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates partnered with Abacus Sports to deliver professional-grade sports flooring throughout the facility.
A bright blue indoor turf lane is also inlaid into the layout, giving Bears athletes a dedicated space for speed and agility training—including sled pushes, plyometrics, and dynamic warm-ups. The turf zone adds visual contrast and helps define specific training areas within the room, supporting a wide range of athletic development. Elizabethtown high schoolers can now hit all their workouts, rain or shine, without moving from space to space.
The weight room features 5,245 square feet of Regupol AktivPro Tiles, a high-performance rubber system engineered for heavy lifting, barbell work, and functional movement. These 1″ interlocking tiles include a waffle backing that enhances shock absorption, reduces vibration, and ensures long-term durability—perfect for the demands of high school athletics. The acoustic and impact-dampening properties also make Regupol AktivPro Tiles ideal for use on the third floor, directly above locker and multipurpose rooms.
The Field House weight room now provides Elizabethtown students with a versatile, college-level training space designed to boost performance. With its durable flooring, functional turf, and smart layout, the facility gives young athletes the tools they need to train safely, effectively, and with confidence. Thanks to expert installation from Abacus Sports, Elizabethtown Area High School now boasts one of the premier high school weight rooms in central Pennsylvania.
